Marple Library is a public library founded in 1875, and is located in the center of Marple. This branch includes several parking lot, smaller separate rooms for children and teens to read, watch movies or play games. There are also two large rooms at the main level that allow up to 30 people seated comfortably as well as having tables available which hold up to 6 patrons each. The upstairs contains four computers with internet access, a computer training lab accessible during normal business hours and one study room.
Marple Library's collection has over 700,000 items including books and DVDs/VHS. New materials arrive daily from other libraries within Delaware County District Library System such as those in Newtown Square and Upper Darby as well from the Delaware County Historical Society who will occasionally lend documents of historical significance.
One program that is offered at Marple Library is a summer reading program where children ages 5–17 are rewarded for the number of books they read during June, July and August. The reward includes games, snacks and prizes; with a final party on August 31. Another program offered is Morning Madness which meets every Monday or Tuesday morning (depending on the school district) from 8 am to 9:45 am in the basement for children aged 3 to grade 2nd sharing stories, songs and finger plays.
